My world is the Apple ecosystem. That’s not to say Windows systems aren’t great photo editing systems - they are! But on these pages, I share what I know and what I use.

Apple iMac Pro 27” 5K

(Adorama)

The iMac is where most of my photo editing and all of my video editing happens. When I buy a new system, I max out processor speeds, graphics cards, and memory. I aim to get 3-4 years out of a system.

Apple MacBook Pro 13”

(Adorama)

The MacBook is my editing platform when I'm away from the studio. I opted for the smaller 13" model because it fits more comfortably in my ThinkTank bags. In 2020, I updated to Apple’s M1 processor. All of my photo apps work great!

OWC Mercury Elite Pro

(Adorama)

More space and more speed! The Thunderbolt 3 speeds let me source 4K video from these drives, and the price per TB is good value. Read my full review of the OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dock.

G-Tech G-RAID Drives

(Adorama)

I’ve used G-Tech G-RAID Studio Thunderbolt drives in the past, a master and backup, for all my photos and videos. I had a pair of 8TB drives until I outgrew the capacity. Read my post on my backup strategy for more details.
